HAINAN CLASSIC
Trusting a Scotty Cameron Super Rat Tour prototype putter, the winner earned a decisive three-stroke victory in China, capturing his first career DP World Tour title after pulling away from the field on the back nine on Sunday. The Englishman shot 65-67 (12 under) over the weekend, which saw him reach a 17-under total for the week. His closing round was highlighted by a stretch of seven birdies in nine holes (Nos. 6-14), which helped him regain the lead with which he started the day and then extend his advantage on the chasing pack.
He was dialed in all week long with his approach play, leading the field in green in regulation (83%, 60/72) and gaining +5.36 strokes on the field (8th). He also ranked third in Strokes Gained: Off the Tee (+4.88). With the win, the champion rises to No. 11 in the Race to Dubai rankings. He also punched his ticket to next month’s PGA Championship after finishing third on the DP World Tour’s four-event Asian Swing. Earning a spot in the field at Quail Hollow as well was Pro V1 player Eugenio Chacarra (2nd in Asian Swing).

RBC HERITAGE
Titleist Brand Ambassador Justin Thomas followed a course record-tying 61 Thursday with a decisive playoff victory Sunday at Harbour Town, rolling his Pro V1x golf ball in from just over 21 feet for birdie on the first extra hole to claim his 16th PGA TOUR victory.
Gaming a Titleist setup that includes his GT2 driver, T-Series long irons, 621.JT prototype blades and Scotty Cameron Phantom 5 tour prototype putter, JT made a field-best 23 birdies, 11 of them coming during his 10-under opening round. He added three more during his bogey-free Sunday 68 – plus a final birdie on the first extra hole.
“When I was out at the WM Phoenix Open, he had these two putters, a plumbing neck mallet and a low bend .5 model. I noticed that he wasn't comfortable in his hand placement between the two. I watched him Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday [of the Phoenix], and then I watched him in the tournament on TV, and I could tell he wasn't comfortable at address. I was working with his putting coach at the time, trying to get an idea of what changes they were making and, along those conversations, I said, 'You know what? It looks like his hands are in between the two [putters/designed-for hand-heights].' We can measure shaft axis and I took the measurements off the original gamer and another design we made him that he was seeing some success with, and we split the difference. And the only way to do that was to make a whole new putter. So, we took a short bend and we manipulated the spud so it would land right in between the two. [To fit a player], you have to understand their putting stroke, the methods they're working on, what their coach, and what they want to feel, and where their hand placement needs to be to make it comfortable," said Paul Vizanko, Scotty Cameron Director of Player Fitting and Development.
For the week, Thomas gained nearly four strokes on approach shots (+3.847/5th) into Harbour Town’s small targets. On those greens, he gained over five shots on the field (+5.512/3rd) with his trusty Scotty Cameron Phantom 5 mallet.
THOMAS CONTINUES STRONG FORM WITH SCOTTY CAMERON PHANTOM 5 PUTTER
This week at Harbour Town, Justin Thomas turned in another stellar putting performance with his Scotty Cameron Phantom 5 tour prototype putter, gaining +5.512 strokes on the field (3rd). His confidence on the greens was on full display on the first extra hole following regulation, when he poured in a walk-off 21-foot birdie putt for the win. Four holes prior, on No. 15 in regulation, Thomas had drained a 24-footer to reach 17 under, the eventual clubhouse lead.
“Man, I putted the ball beautifully today,” said Thomas after the round. “I played really, really well... I felt like I had control of everything. It never felt like I needed to force things out there or was hoping things were happening. I just was kind of like, let's just keep playing and I'll make birdies when I can. The patience was great, but those par putts and putts I made on the front nine were huge for my momentum and keeping them.”
By week’s end, Thomas finished 6th in Putts per GIR (1.59) and 2nd in Feet of Putts Made (94’8” average per round). During Thursday’s course record-tying opening round 61, he made over 165 feet of putts.
Thomas’ putting this week was on par with his season-long performance on the greens. In 2025 so far, he ranks:
- 24th in SG: Putting (+0.459 per round)
- 1st in Putting Average (1.651)
- 5th in Putts per Round (27.63)
- 6th in One-Putt Percentage (45.69%)
- 2nd in Birdie or Better Conversion Percentage (45.69%)
- Compared to his 2024 and 2022-23 season-end rankings, he has jumped at least 25 spots in each one of those statistical categories.
JT has won two major championships and the majority of his PGA TOUR titles playing a Scotty Cameron Phantom-style head shape, which provides him the feel of a blade with the stability of a mallet. Thomas’ current Phantom 5 model features a prototype .5 shaft bend neck, which helped JT get his hands in a more comfortable position and a good starting point for the stroke, according to Scotty Cameron tour rep Drew Page. He also loves how square the putter sits at address, which has helped improve his alignment.
PGA TOUR AMERICAS (April 6, 2025)
70TH ECP BRAZIL OPEN

THE NATIONAL TOURNAMENT
Trusting his Scotty Cameron Phantom 5.2 Tour prototype putter, Titleist Brand Ambassador Harrison Crowe conquered high winds and difficult conditions to claim his first victory as a professional at The National Tournament on the PGA Tour of Australasia.
“It was very testing out there and I just kind of had to keep bringing myself back and just stay really in the moment,” said Crowe after the round. “It was easy to wander off – what the lead was, what the score was – and trying to look too far ahead but I think I did a really, really good job today of just being present and staying really, really patient.”
The 23-year-old shot 19-under for the week, the final event of the 2024-25 season. His victory saw him finish 8th in the Order of Merit.

Henley was in total control of his Pro V1x golf ball, trusting a Titleist setup that includes his GT3 driver, T-Series irons and Vokey Design SM10 wedges to more than nine strokes gained tee-to-green (+9.108/3rd), while gaining over three more strokes on the greens with his Scotty Cameron Phantom 5 (+3.613/10th) putter.

HENLEY DIALED IN ON GREENS WITH PHANTOM PUTTER
Gaming his Scotty Cameron Phantom X 5 Tour prototype putter, Russell Henley gained 3.613 strokes on the field this week, ranking 10th. He also finished T8 in Putts per GIR (1.69). On No. 17, Henley faced a testy 5-foot, 8-inch par putt to stay one shot ahead with one hole to play. He calmy rolled it in, and then two-putted from 42 feet, 9 inches on the last for the win.
“I knew I was going to have to make some putts if I wanted to win,” said Henley. “So I just tried to stay focused, and I did a really good job of going back to my same process, my mental process, how I read the putt, and committing to my line and picked the right line.”

COGNIZANT CLASSIC IN THE PALM BEACHES
Titleist Brand Ambassador Joe Highsmith claimed his first PGA TOUR victory with confidence and control, pulling away from a jam-packed leaderboard Sunday with a bogey-free 7-under 64 to win by two shots.
Gaming an all-Titleist setup that included his new 2025 Pro V1 golf ball, GT3 driver and fairway, T-Series irons, Vokey Design SM10 wedges and Scotty Cameron 009M (Masterful) Carbon Tour putter, Highsmith posted back-to-back 64’s that featured a total of 13 birdies, an eagle and just one bogey over the final 36 holes.
His final birdie of the week came on the 175-yard par-3 17th, where he hit his approach to 20 feet, 11 inches and sank the putt to reach 19 under par – playing “The Bear Trap” (15-16-17) in 1 under to solidify the lead and eventual victory. After making the cut on the number, he led the field with a total of +11.412 strokes gained over the weekend, including +4.936 strokes tee to green and +6.476 strokes with the putter.
HIGHSMITH WINS IN 3rd START WITH NEW SCOTTY CAMERON 009M
An even more recent addition to Joe Highsmith’s setup is his new-look Scotty Cameron 009M (Masterful) Carbon Tour prototype putter, which he used to gain +6.476 strokes on the field over the weekend at PGA National. This week marked Highsmith’s third start with the new gamer, which he received after making a visit to the Scotty Cameron Putter Studio in January ahead of the Farmers Insurance Open at nearby Torrey Pines. Highsmith, who has used a Newport-style 009 since his junior golf days, was looking for a refreshed feel and look.
During a session with Paul Vizanko, Scotty Cameron’s Director of Putter Fitting & Player Development, Highsmith was able to dial-in a new setup that featured a hand-ground sole to ensure it sat properly with the perfect weighting. Highsmith even designed the custom-stamping on the new model.
“I was at the studio a few months ago and I was with Paul Vizanko there, and I told him I wanted a little bit of a change,” said Highsmith. “It's like the exact same putter but a cooler paint job and a different finish. I don't know what it is about this thing, but it feels way better than any of the others – because I have like four of the same shape putter, all with different finishes and metals or whatever. But this one has a special feeling to it, and I guess now it’s the one I’m definitely going to stick with.”
On Friday, Highsmith faced one of his biggest hurdles of the week: a 4-foot, 7-inch putt to make the cut on the number.
“Yeah, it was, like, the worst putt you'd ever want,” said Highsmith. “The greens were so baked out and bumpy and it was right to left kind of falling away. Just a super sketchy putt. I hate right-to-left putts because I have a tendency to wipe them or block them a little bit... I just tried to make sure at a minimum I committed to it. I didn't want to leave knowing that I had missed the last putt on Friday, so I committed to it and fortunately it went in.”
Fast-forward to the back nine on Sunday, and Highsmith was dialed in on the greens down the stretch, converting an 18-foot birdie try on 11, a 15-foot birdie try on 13 and a 20-foot birdie try on 17. On 18, his 49-foot lag putt settled within three feet of the cup, setting up a tap-in par for his first career PGA TOUR title.
“I've putted really honestly pretty well for a majority of the year I feel like, and this weekend was ridiculous how many putts went in. Yeah, that [putter] is here to stay for sure.”

After Sunday’s final round was cancelled due to flooding, co-leaders Naidoo and Laurie Canter (NEW 2025 Pro V1) went to a playoff on the short par-4 18th. Naidoo sealed the victory with a low, spinning chip, his Pro V1x settling in tight for a winning birdie 3.
"That type of shot is my bread and butter; a little low skipper,” said Naidoo after the round. “The boys who play practice rounds with me know that I do that all the time. I didn't have a lot of fear on the shot, it was actually a really nice shot for me to have in the moment.” With the win, Naidoo earned an exemption into the 153rd Open Championship at Royal Portrush, which will be his first major championship appearance.
