Released in select golf shops on December 10, 2021, Scotty Cameron recently rolled out the H21 Limited Proto. This holiday-timed release introduces a limited putter featuring new design technology in an all-new Phantom X 7.5 shape that ushers in a new era of Scotty’s mallet design.
With jewel-like translucent red sight dots offering the only splashes of color, the H21’s dark color palette is carried through the design, from the precision milled in USA 303 stainless steel body in a misted Tour Black finish, to its engraved 6061 aluminum sole plate anodized black. Built at 34.5 inches, this compact wingback mallet includes a Tour black shaft, Pistolero Plus grip and a custom headcover and shaft band.
“For many years I’ve introduced a limited release putter around the holidays. That’s where the “H” comes from for the name of this year’s model—the H21 Limited Proto. It has given me the opportunity to roll many of my favorite design aspects into one putter that will only be made once in a limited run. The finish, graphics, paint, shaft type…everything is a one-off for a special creation. Of course, though, this Phantom X 7.5 design tips my hand a bit with what’s to come in the future. Scotty’s familiar three-dot design reveals itself in the machined metal circles milled in the back pocket. Elongated sight lines painted black help to frame the golf ball at address for traditional mallet confidence while a toe flow-promoting small slant neck delivers a more blade-like, flowing feel.
This all-new angular wingback design was inspired by requests from touring professionals for a putter with the stability and alignment benefits of a mallet with the freer-feeling swing path of a blade.
The H21 Limited Proto is engineered for performance with a solid, precision-milled 303 stainless steel body and face integrated with a 6061 aluminum flange-sole component. This design increases MOI and stability by positioning heavier steel in the perimeter with lighter aluminum in the middle of the mallet.
The 6061 aluminum flange-sole component has been misted and anodized black with the industrial engravings also painted black, while the 303 stainless steel—excluding the sole weights—is misted for glare reduction and has our Tour Black finish.
