"Guess what? I found these 3 putters in my garage in a puddle of rainwater that leaked in! I'd love to see if I could get them refinished if possible?" read the handwritten note in the box holding three very rusty putters sent in by Putter Studio friend, Peter Jacobsen.

If possible? If possible! C'mon, Peter...this is THE Scotty Cameron Custom Shop. We live for this stuff. Well, ok...to be honest, this was a bit of a challenge. Scotty's restored putters that have been subjected to the cruel wrath of water and oxidation before. Putters found in lakes thought to never see another putt have been brought back to brilliant, gleaming life under the watchful eyes and experienced hands of Scotty and his Custom Shop crew.

That's not to say that this project wasn't without its risks. Whenever an oil can finish gets wet and rust spots begin, the pitting can sometimes be fatal if left too long. That's for sure. But as Scotty took a look at these once-pristine custom putters, he knew with just the right amount of TLC that these putters could be reclaimed and restored, made as good as new.
